As a home buyer, especially if you're a first time home buyer, the first thing that usually happens is you start driving around or looking on-line for homes. Why not? It's an exciting time! Maybe friends of yours just got married & you're seeing them move into their first home; or you've been paying rent for a LONG time & realize it's time to start investing in your own place instead of someone else's. Obviously we all need to be motivated toward reaching goals -- imagining it, talking about it, picturing yourself "there" are all vital motivators.
One of my personal & greatest joys as a Realtor is to know my buyers have found THE one -- the looks on their faces is the tell-all! Conversely, it would be one of the greatest let-downs if my buyers found THE one, & then quickly discovered they can't get it -- because there was no preparation. It's absolutely heart-breaking to experience this, and why now, as a Realtor, I encourage my buyers to start the process of buying in the "right order."
Unless you are purchasing in a higher dollar range, gone are the days when there was ample inventory for buyers to take their time to look & choose, make lower offers & expect to get what they want when they want it. Buyers even have to prove they can buy a property when they make an offer, & sometimes sellers require that proof to even look at their property.
In the home-buying process, I'd like to encourage you to do all these things -- look, dream, make your plans -- but when it comes time to take action, call me first & let's make absolutely sure you're ready to buy! I'll work with you to get you ready to buy, along with a great team of people ready to do the same!
